New York City FC vs Nashville: Where to watch the match online, live stream, TV channels & kick-off time

Here's where you can watch New York City FC vs Nashville in MLS on TV or stream live.

On Saturday night, New York City FC will play Nashville SC in Major League Soccer with the goal of maintaining their perfect start at Citi Field.

At this early stage of the season, New York City is in seventh place in the Eastern Conference, while Nashville is up in fifth place after seven games and two more points.

▶ Watch every MLS match, including the playoffs, here

With nine points in seven games, New York City FC has had a respectable, if not spectacular start to the season. However, they are already eight points behind FC Cincinnati, who is now leading the Eastern Conference.

Although their recent results have tailed off, NYCFC has been strong at home in their first three games, picking up seven points while defeating DC United and Inter Miami back in March.

Nick Cushing's team has gone three games without a victory while only accruing two points, but they can still count themselves quite fortunate to have gained anything from the most recent game.

The Music, who placed seventh in the previous season's MLS standings, are performing about as well as was predicted. They have 11 points after seven games, which puts them comfortably inside the playoff spots.

The defence of Gary Smith's team has stood out thus far this season. They have only allowed two goals, the fewest of any team in either the Eastern or Western Conference, and have preserved a clean sheet in five of their seven games.

Nashville has amassed a respectable four points from their first three away games, and the only two teams they have lost to this season are Cincinnati and the New England Revolution, who hold the top two spots in the Eastern Conference.

GOAL brings you everything you need to know about where to watch the game on TV and stream live online.

The Premier League's most iconic title-deciding moments: From 'Agueroooo!' to the Battle of the Bridge

It often takes something special to clinch English football's most prestigious trophy – as Arsenal and Manchester City both know only too well

All eyes will be on the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday as Premier League leaders Arsenal take on reigning champions Manchester City in a clash that could well decide the final destination of the title.

The Gunners are in danger of letting an eight-point lead slip after a run of three successive draws, but that will be forgotten if they can come out on top against Pep Guardiola's all-star City side.

The odds are stacked against Mikel Arteta's men, though. City are hunting down their fifth title in the last six seasons, and as always, have saved their best form for the finishing stretch. Arsenal want to end their dominance, but haven't been in this position for almost 20 years, and experience could end up being the difference between the sides.

At this stage of the season, players have the chance to write their names into the history books. A superb team performance or moment of individual brilliance can often tip the scales, and there have been so many to marvel at down the years.

So, as we edge towards a defining contest in Manchester, GOAL takes a look at the most memorable title-clinching occasions the Premier League has ever seen…

    2011-12: Aguerooooo!

Manchester United had a 13th Premier League title in the palm of their hand heading into April 2012, despite losing 6-1 to eternal rivals City at Old Trafford in an extraordinary derby clash earlier in the season.

But they managed to let an eight-point lead slip, suffering a surprise 1-0 defeat at Wigan before drawing 4-4 with Everton at home and losing to City again in the reverse fixture at the Etihad.

That sequence of results set up a final day that would change the face of English football forever.

United once again put themselves in a position to lift the trophy after winning their last outing against Sunderland 1-0, but they had to wait for full-time in City's encounter with QPR before any celebrations could begin.

When the final whistle blew at the Stadium of Light, the scoreline was 2-2 at the Etihad, with Edin Dzeko having drawn City level in the 92nd minute.

Three minutes later, Mario Balotelli picked up the ball on the edge of the box, and then managed to poke it into the direction of an on-rushing Sergio Aguero despite being off balance.

The Argentine then skipped past a QPR defender before smashing the ball into the bottom of the corner – cue absolute delirium.

Martin Tyler's iconic commentary added even more weight as he let the 'o' in Aguero roll off his tongue for what seemed like an eternity.

He added after finally drawing breath: "I swear you'll never see anything like this ever again. So watch it, drink it in.

“They've just heard the news at The Stadium of Light. Two goals in added time for Manchester City to snatch the title away from Manchester United.”

Three years later, Ferguson reflected on the moment that the balance of power in Manchester finally shifted towards the blue half.

"We were champions for 30 seconds," he told . "It was a devastating moment; it was incredible. You have to say we did throw the league away."

1994-95: Blackburn lose at Anfield but pip Man Utd

The Premier League title has been decided on the final day nine times in total, with the first instance coming in only the third year after the competition's inception.

Manchester United had won the first two Premier League crowns, but they were two points behind Blackburn Rovers heading into their last fixture in 1994-95.

United had a superior goal difference and knew a win over West Ham would give them a third successive title if Kenny Dalglish's side slipped up against Liverpool at Anfield.

Rovers took the lead on Merseyside, but the Reds came back to steal all three points, with Jamie Redknapp crashing in a stoppage-time free-kick to hand United the initiative.

News of the final result quickly filtered through to the Boleyn Ground, where West Ham were holding Ferguson's men to a 1-1 draw.

United reacted by throwing the kitchen sink at the Hammers, but they just couldn't find that all-important winner, and Rovers were crowned champions by a single point after the referee finally blew his whistle.

Blackburn's triumph was an underdog story for the ages, and the mood was captured perfectly by a voiceover from on the most famous night in the club's history.

“For this former cotton town, which has been in decline for most of the century, the success of Blackburn Rovers means everything.”

2015-16: Battle of the Bridge sparks a Vardy party!

"The fans, the club, the players – we don’t want Tottenham to win the Premier League."

Eden Hazard spoke for the entire Chelsea squad when asked about their motivation ahead of a meeting with Spurs at Stamford Bridge in May 2016.

Tottenham hadn't won at the Blues' home stadium since 1990, but they were favourites heading into the latest London derby match-up, with 22 points separating the two sides in the table.

Chelsea only had pride to play for after a disastrous season that had seen Guus Hiddink called back to steady the ship after Jose Mourinho's sacking, but Spurs needed a victory to stay in the hunt for their first title since 1961.

Leicester City, meanwhile, were watching on knowing that they could clinch the trophy with two games to spare if the Blues were able to stop Tottenham in their tracks.

Mauricio Pochettino's side showed no signs of nerves in a superb first-half showing that saw Harry Kane and Son Heung-min fire them into a two-goal lead.

But Gary Cahill struck early in the second period to lift Chelsea, and Hazard stepped up seven minutes from time to curl an unstoppable shot into the top corner and level proceedings, capping a game that truly had everything.

Spurs broke the record for the most yellow cards in a single match (nine), Pochettino raced off the touchline to break up an altercation between Willian and Danny Rose, and Moussa Dembele appeared to eye-gouge Diego Costa as tempers flared in west London.

When the dust finally settled, the Leicester squad were free to celebrate from the comfort of Jamie Vardy's eight-bedroom house in Melton-Mowbray.

The Foxes were 5,000-1 outsiders to lift the title at the start of the campaign, with the odds reflecting the fact that they had never previously won the league in their 132-year history.

Leicester pulled off the greatest footballing miracle ever under former Chelsea boss Claudio Ranieri, while Tottenham were left wondering what might have been after another predictable collapse. Spursy.

2004-05: Lampard double inspires Mourinho's Chelsea to glory

After 50 years of hurt, Chelsea finally stood on the cusp of domestic glory when making the trip to Bolton Wanderers in April 2005.

Just two years on from Roman Abramovich's takeover at Stamford Bridge, the Blues had become the dominant force in English football, and needed only one more win to seal the title.

Led by a Jose Mourinho at the peak of his powers, Chelsea didn't disappoint.

Frank Lampard took his tally of goals for the season to 18 with a superb brace at the Reebok Stadium, giving the Blues an unassailable 14-point lead over Arsenal at the top of the table.

Lampard's second goal was a thing of beauty, as he finished off a quick-fire counter-attack by rounding Bolton goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen and firing into the back of the net.

The England midfielder then took the opportunity to hit back at Chelsea's critics after the celebrations got underway, telling reporters: "We’ve proved that the best team wins the league. There have been some harsh words spoken about us not being entertaining and that the best two teams in the Premier League are in the final of the FA Cup [Manchester United and Arsenal].

"But the best team wins the league and we have done that. It’s time for the others to take a look and know that we are definitely the best."

Mourinho, who 11 months earlier had introduced himself as "The Special One" following his arrival from Porto, echoed Lampard's sentiments.

"Our group is a special group, they deserve this – nobody can say we don't deserve this. We were absolutely magnificent," he said. "The players deserve this more than anybody, but I am very happy for the fans, especially those that have not seen a title win.

"We met for the first time in July and from that moment we have built something special. When we have to fight, we fight; when we have to play, we play; when we have to suffer, we suffer. And always together."

By the end of the campaign, the Blues had broken the records for the most away wins (15), most clean sheets (25), fewest goals conceded away (nine), most wins (29) and fewest goals conceded (15) in a single Premier League season.

    Special indeed.

Course-ready gear with a touch of football class

Joining forces ahead of The 151st Open at Royal Liverpool, Admiral Sportswear and Swedish golf specialists Macade present a collection of course-ready pieces inspired by their dual sporting expertise.

Blending Macade’s golf performance with the Admiral archive of patterns and designs, the collaboration is led by a Home & Away shirt, the former in a subtly striped Aubergine design and the latter in a two-tone Khaki/Blue colourway with orange hints highlighting the dress-code meeting collar.

The collaboration also takes into account longer days out on the course with a classic taped seam Admiral ¼ zip – matching shorts are, of course, on offer as well.

The last stop before the Clubhouse drinks is the Green Zip Jacket, the design of which is inspired by an archival Admiral piece produced for the US Golf Association in the 1970s. It’s no Masters-winning jacket, but the cut, colour, and subtle branding make this as good as any trophy lifted this week.

The collection landed on July 16, in perfect time for a debut at The Open, and now you can get your hands on it too. Exclusively available at Macade Golf, the collaboration ranges from £30.00- £95.00. Here’s a closer look at some of the items available:

Why Andre Onana will ‘make mistakes’ for Man Utd despite boasting ‘absolutely crazy’ skill as Andy Cole assesses £47m goalkeeper

Andre Onana will “make mistakes” for Manchester United despite boasting one “absolutely crazy” attribute, says Andy Cole.

  • Cameroonian star acquired for big money
  • Still adjusting to life in England
  • Backed to be a shrewd addition for Red Devils
  • WHAT HAPPENED?

The Cameroonian goalkeeper, who has been recalled by his national team this season, completed a £47 million ($60m) move to Old Trafford from Inter Milan during the summer transfer window. He has endured a testing start to life in England – with a pre-season outing that saw him lobbed from the halfway line being followed by criticism of performances in the Premier League that have seen him concede some questionable goals.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Onana is, however, still finding his feet and Cole believes that the 27-year-old will prove to be a shrewd addition to the Red Devils squad. He is always going to have an error in him, which may prove costly at times, but his distribution is expected to serve United well as they continue to play out from the back.

  • WHAT THEY SAID

Former United striker Cole – who formed part of the club’s Treble-winning squad in 1999 – has told of Onana: “His distribution’s absolutely crazy. As a player in a team, regardless of whatever position you play in, you’re going to make mistakes from time to time. That’s part and parcel of football. I watched him during Manchester United’s pre-season tour and his distribution is absolutely ridiculous and he seems like a very commanding goalkeeper. It’s been a difficult start for him as there’s no way he would have thought that he would have conceded so many goals at the start of his Manchester United career, but he’s a very, very good goalkeeper.”

    WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

United have picked up six points from three games in the 2023-24 season, with battling qualities on full display, and they will be back in action on Sunday when taking in a trip to old adversaries, Arsenal.

Barcelona player ratings vs Mallorca: Raphinha comes alive in front of goal but Blaugrana drop points in La Liga

The Brazilian winger impressed with two goal contributions on an otherwise frustrating night

Raphinha scored Barcelona's first goal, assisted the second, and turned in a complete attacking performance in an otherwise forgettable Tuesday night fixture against mid-table Mallorca. Barca trailed twice, and pushed for a winner late on, but were forced to settle for a 2-2 draw.

Mallorca took the lead inside 10 minutes, the home side taking advantage of a poor pass from Marc-Andre ter Stegen, before crafting a chance for Vedat Muriqi – who couldn't miss with the goal gaping. Barca struggled to create for most of the first half, with Ferran Torres coming closest when he saw an effort denied from five yards out.

But the equaliser eventually came, Raphinha cutting onto his left foot and lashing a shot into the bottom corner from 20 yards out. The Brazilian should have made it two on the stroke of half time, but sent a shot flying over the bar after running through on goal. And Barca were made to pay for their inability to convert, as Abdon Prats finished past a languid Ter Stegen after latching too easily onto a long ball from the Mallorca goalkeeper.

The Blaugrana created more in the second half, though, and were good value for their equaliser. One substitute started it, and another finished, with Lamine Yamal leading a slick move down the right, before Raphinha squared the ball to an advancing Fermin Lopez, who found the corner.

And Barca never really came that close again. Mallorca were resolute at the back, and offered enough going forward to ensure that the Blaugrana were never comfortable on the ball – battling for a point that didn't flatter them whatsoever.

GOAL rates Barcelona's players from Iberostar Stadium…

  • Getty Images

    Goalkeeper & Defence

    Marc Andre ter Stegen (4/10):

Made a mistake to gift Mallorca the first goal, and was slow off his line for the second.

    Joao Cancelo (5/10):

Disappointing after turning in a match-winning performance against Celta Vigo. Some of his passing was sloppy, and he didn't cover enough ground defensively.

    Ronald Araujo (6/10):

Not necessarily comfortable, but distributed well enough, and made a few vital clearances. Showed some excellent recovery pace when necessary, too.

    Inigo Martinez (5/10):

Given a tricky evening by Muriqi, and couldn't deal with the striker's physicality. Clear that he needs more first team football to find his best form.

    Alejandro Balde (6/10):

Got forward with regularity, but didn't create too many opportunities – though it can be argued that Barca didn't use him enough.

  • Getty Images

    Midfield

    Ilkay Gundogan (6/10):

Got into advanced areas, but was suffocated before he could create anything. Moved into a more defensive role as Barca checked the game. He's not quite hit the ground running in Catalunya.

    Oriol Romeu (6/10):

Beaten too easily in the air when Mallorca got their second. Sacrificed for a more attacking formation.

    Gavi (7/10):

Disrupted play from a deeper role, and made an impact going forward, too. Barca's best midfielder on the night.

  • Getty Images

    Attack

    Raphinha (8/10):

Scored a wonderful goal and assisted the second. He will have to fight for his spot if Yamal continues to impress. These kinds of performances should be more than enough to keep him around.

    Ferran Torres (5/10):

Missed Barca's best chance of the first half – seeing a close-range effort saved. Only seems to have a big impact off the bench.

    Joao Felix (6/10):

Dangerous in the final third without being immensely effective. Hit the post and saw an effort saved, but wasn't at his best.

    Subs & Manager

    Robert Lewandowski (6/10):

Came off the bench for just the second time in his Barca career. A wonderful dummy set up the equaliser. Didn't have many opportunities in front of goal.

    Lamine Yamal (8/10):

Almost won a penalty 60 seconds after entering the fold. Was instrumental in setting up the Barca leveler. Devastating in one-on-ones, as well.

    Fermin Lopez (7/10):

Came off the bench to equalise – his first goal in La Liga. Energetic off the ball and tidy on it.

    Jules Kounde (5/10):

Shaky after coming on. Misplaced a couple of passes, and almost gave away a goal after a sloppy piece of defending.

    Xavi (5/10):

Made the bold call to bench Lewandowski, and certainly missed Frenkie de Jong. Barca never really controlled the game, and were made to pay for a couple of defensive errors. It seemed likely to be a tricky midweek fixture, and it proved as such. Not his finest night as Barca manager.

Chelsea's year of discontent: Todd Boehly, Frank Lampard and the long list of culprits to blame for the club's never-ending troubles

Any hope that Mauricio Pochettino's appointment would solve the Blues' problems has evaporated, but the club's issues transcend the new head coach

Everyone associated with Chelsea Football Club would have hoped that things couldn't get any worse than last term's 12th-placed finish at the end of a harrowing campaign, but six games into the 2023-24 season, the Blues have hit a new low. One win, two defeats and three draws leaves the west Londoners languishing in 14th position in the Premier League, with Carabao Cup victories over AFC Wimbledon and Brighton offering little reprieve.

It is arguably now approaching two years since we have seen Chelsea at their best domestically, and it has been a story of cause and effect ever since. But who is responsible for this seemingly never-ending period of mediocrity and malaise?

GOAL assesses who must shoulder their share of the blame for the Blues' woes, as Mauricio Pochettino looks to pick up the pieces.

  • Getty

Thomas Tuchel & his former employers

It may seem a stretch to attribute blame for Chelsea's current predicament to those who worked at the club more than 12 months ago, but such has been the Blues' downturn in form since Christmas 2021 that their involvement must be interrogated.

Nine out of 10 Chelsea supporters would be delighted to still have Tuchel in the dugout, but he is not above reproach. The biggest failure of his tenure was his inability to get the best out of a host of expensive, highly-regarded attacking players during his tenure, including Kai Havertz, Timo Werner, Christian Pulisic and Romelu Lukaku.

That recent history has created a pressurised environment for Chelsea's forwards and seems to have contributed to a defeatist mentality in that department.

Former Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia's failure to tie the likes of Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen and Mason Mount down to new contracts has also proven to be damaging, with an overhaul of the defence not exactly successful to this point and Mount – a shining success story of the academy – forcing a move to Manchester United in the summer, much to the chagrin of the fanbase.

  • (C)Getty Images

    The co-owners

Unequivocally, Chelsea co-owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali have been agents of chaos since completing their takeover in May 2022, and there is very little doubt that the Blues would not be in their current predicament had oligarch Roman Abramovich not been forced to sell his beloved asset in the wake of Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

A series of questionable leadership decisions have followed, including Boehly appointing himself as sporting director last summer and subsequently overspending on the unsuccessful signings Kalidou Koulibaly and Marc Cucurella.

Indeed, their unabashed spending and commitment to overhauling the squad has contributed to an atmosphere of constant upheaval and a state of flux in every department, as managers, coaches and players alike make their way through the revolving door.

Perhaps their biggest mistake to date was relieving hugely popular, Champions League-winning head coach Tuchel of his duties and replacing him with Graham Potter, with the situation only deteriorating from that point onwards.

Their hands-on approach has drifted towards being overbearing at times as they skulk into the dressing room at full-time after a bad result, with Boehly allegedly berating the squad and calling them "embarrassing" during Frank Lampard's spell in temporary charge.

  • Getty

    The sporting directors

Paul Winstanley and Lawrence Stewart's respective arrivals during last season generated a lot of excitement that Chelsea's record of hit-and-miss transfer dealings would be consigned to history, with the former joining from the revered Brighton recruitment team.

However, things have not gone as many would have expected. The Blues were accused of deploying a scattergun approach in the January window with Winstanley and Stewart heavily involved but not yet installed in their roles as co-sporting directors, spending more than £300m ($367m) on eight new players including £89m ($109m) on Mykhailo Mudryk – who is yet to come anywhere close to justifying that price-tag – and £107m ($131m) on Enzo Fernandez.

Although Nicolas Jackson impressed in pre-season, the decision not to pursue an elite striker with a proven goal-scoring record has been thrust into the spotlight as the Senegal international struggles to adapt to the Premier League.

Their policy of only pursuing players under the age of 25 has also raised eyebrows, with the likes of James Maddison and James Ward-Prowse overlooked in the summer and now shining for two of the club's London rivals. Indeed, Chelsea ultimately spent more than the fees that pair commanded on far less experienced names in Cole Palmer and Romeo Lavia.

It has also been reported that the Blues declined to pursue Declan Rice – seemingly a long-term target for the club – because he would cost an 'English premium'. Moises Caicedo was subsequently signed from Brighton for a British-record £115m ($141m) – £5m ($6m) more than Arsenal paid West Ham for Rice.

Although they have hacked down their wage bill, Chelsea are yet to see a tangible payoff for their mass summer clear-out, with no fewer than 23 departures contributing to an overarching sense of chaos and upheaval. After a nightmarish 2022-23 campaign, the Blues' form hasn't been much better so far in the new season.

    Graham Potter

It's difficult to know exactly where Potter went wrong in his ill-fated time in charge, but he certainly failed to endear himself to the Chelsea faithful.

Accustomed to the snarling, competitive edge of the likes of Tuchel, Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte, Potter's 'nice guy' approach wasn't well received by an impatient fanbase.

The decision to ostracise Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang – one of very few natural goal-scorers in the squad – also backfired as Havertz flattered to deceive as a lone striker throughout the season.

Finally, despite being boosted by a host of January signings, Potter never got the best out of the majority of his new arrivals, although he understandably struggled to juggle a bloated squad.

'F*ck what anyone else has said' – Man Utd stars urged to 'rally around' Andre Onana as Rio Ferdinand makes comparison with 'fragile' David de Gea

Manchester United have been urged to “rally around” Andre Onana, with the Cameroonian goalkeeper advised to think: “F*ck what anyone else has said.”

Rio Ferdinand is among those to have watched on from afar this season as Onana has endured a testing start to life in English football on the back of his £48 million ($59m) transfer from Inter. The 27-year-old has made a number of costly errors, with clean sheets proving hard to come by as a result.

  • Getty/GOAL

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Onana is not the first keeper to suffer early struggles at Old Trafford – with Peter Schmiechel and David de Gea doing likewise – and ex-Red Devils defender Ferdinand has told of the approach that needs to be taken: “I think that’s why probably me and David have still got a relationship now because I think those moments there, it’s about the experienced players making the young ones feel confident. When they’re making good plays, it’s just reassuring them. When they’re making a mistake, it’s not berating them. Sometimes there’s going to be times when you have to berate someone like that. But when you know they’re young and they’re fragile, like David was, you have got to box clever around those situations. He wasn’t one for being talked to for a long period of time, he wanted to feel that his team-mates had the confidence and I think that’s a big thing. If your team-mates have got confidence in you, it’s almost like: ‘f*ck what anyone else has said because I know the people that really matter and are around me, have confidence in me’. I think that’s what the players, the experienced players at Man United now have to rally around.”

  • WHAT THEY SAID

Ferdinand believes that Onana can play his way through a slight wobble, adding on the Cameroon international and the character that he needs to show: “He seems like quite a confident kid to be fair. I’ve spoken to him a couple of times before the Burnley game, especially on the pitch before the game. He seemed confident, mistakes are part of it. He understands that, but we have to remember as well, he’s not a goalkeeper that hasn’t had these moments before. He’s made mistakes before and came back and played for Milan in the Champions League final, played for Ajax in the Champion League semi-final. He’s got the experience of making mistakes, rebuilding and going again. I think he’s made of the right stuff and speaking to the staff there, that’s what they talk about. You can tell he’s got the character to ride something like this.”
